Devotion

There are monuments, statues, writings and poems of devotion...

Some etched in stone, others sculpted in marble, many inked upon a page...

' I come here with no expectations, only to profess, now that I am at liberty to do so, that my heart is and always be yours.'
Jane Austen - Sense and Sensibility

or alas scribbled on a scrap of paper.

Devotion is an attachment; sometimes exclusive... it is endless, timeless...
A dedication of loyalty to a belief, a child or a lover...

May this day find your heart filled with such promise...

* Monument in honour of 1st Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada
John Graves Simcoe 1752-1806 and his devoted wife Elizabeth Posthuma Gwillim Simcoe 1762-1850 located at Navy Hall in Historic Niagara-on-the-Lake.

  9. Devotion - an old-fashioned word, but one with a depth of meaning and a quality that should be more in evidence.
