Pear Perfection

Considered one of the fruits of the gods, the pear with its plump bottom, long neck, luscious coloured skin and succulent flesh is one of Nature's creations of perfection...


When recently teaching a make-do pincushion class at 'Stitch' located in the historic Village of Jordan, a tranquil quilt and knit shop where women gather to create... I was intrigued how the shape of the pear evolved into each participant's interpretation.


The table was set with lots of goodies for inspiration...


and the shop provided magnificent fabric choices.


Amidst the chatter and giggles they cut, sewed, stuffed and added their own personal embellishments...


each leaving with a work of art, the accomplishment of an afternoon spent amongst friends...

Magic Through The Night

What magic transpires as we lie abed...

The moisture that descends from the heavens unites with the crisp, cold air creating particles of ice to cover the land and all that lingers in its wake...

Like diamond dust sprinkled by frost fairies its beauty is reflected first by the faintest of moonbeams and then by the sunrise in the early morning light.


Cascading with abandon upon the grapevines, the feathery grasses and the landscape it is a glorious sight to behold...

Interlude

Miss Maddie and I have been spending time paused between the acts of a play, the verses of a hymn, the amusement of an incident...

Alas I have discovered I have indeed missed this land of blog... the kindred spirits, the creative artists, fantastic writers and humble beings...

I am returning with the same eyes looking out into the world...
The same heart expressing what it feels,
And the same soul finding its beauty...
