Under the Influence

All my creativity seems to be reflected by the beauty that lies outside the window...

From the dainty heart shaped tokens of affection that have been created from a lovely lambswool sweater I've hand felted...

To the delicate knitting on the needles... with the palest hint of blush pink , samples of colour found amongst the snow drifts refracted  by the sunlight.

Perhaps soon the artistic ventures will be influenced by the shades in the garden!

I do hope so. Stay warm...

Winter Creativity

Though the chill of Winter lingers just outside the door, it is cozy within as the fire burns in the woodstove , the kitties are snuggled together  and the full moon's  brilliant light shines through the window...

It is time to gather laces, threads and vintage fabric scraps to hand sew little tokens of love...

sweet fabric brooches, banners and bunting...

There is so much creativity out there to inspire one to sew, be it an individual passion and as a group of others gathered together it is a wonderful way to pass the time...

Ode To Mother Nature

As Mother Nature unleashes her wicked winds, freezing temperatures and endless peril it is easy to forget Her softer side...

But amidst all the relentless shades of Winter one only needs to remember there is beauty 

that lies beneath the snow...

And as the daylight hours begin to grow, the migrations north will soon follow.

The sunshine will become warmer, the snowdrops will find their way through the earth and all will be lush again...

In the meantime we may daydream of outdoor antique shows,  quilts airing on the line and 

long walks in the woods...
