Welcome Spring

With the dawning of a new day comes the beginning of a long awaited season…
Spring has arrived on the calendar and though wet snow is predicted for the weekend the promise of warmer sunlight, the blooming of the endless orchards of blossoms and the return of the mischievous birdsong in the garden makes one  giddy with anticipation…

Even the pocket on a new pinny under construction reflects the beauty of the gardens yet to behold.

But while Nature decides when the season will be in full swing a little indoor garden therapy helps to soothe the soul…

  1. Giddy! Yes, that's exactly how I feel today, even with new snow all around. I have heard the robins, and saw both pine grosbeak and bluebirds this past week. Spring is definitely here!

LOVE your new pinny, Susan. I hope you'll share it with us when it's completed.

    Much love,
    Lin

  2. Spring is certainly here now, whether it feels like it or not. It does bring such promise with it though. I love the flowery pattern on your pinny pocket.

  3. Spring is taking her time here in the UK, but there are definitely signs that she is creeping in. Ros

  4. Oh how lovely that you are experiencing some spring! While we don't have any snow, we are still a dull shade of brown. I will be happy for the color to return. :)

  5. The weather woman was saying this morning that the northeast past of the country had experienced a colder winter and we, here in the southeast, a warmer one. I never had to take my winter coat out and never used my ice scrapper on my windshield. I think this will mean we’ll have many insects this spring. Spring has been here for a couple of weeks, with all the daffodils out and blooms on the flowering trees – your turn will come soon!

  6. That blossom is divine. Spring has flounced in here, bringing her best friends Rain and Gales with her.

  8. I hope that spring will soon arrive for real in your part of the world. This time between seasons can be hard. We are full of anticipation, and one late snowfall can be hard to take. I am sure that there are crocuses poking through now, though!

  12. Hope you're seeing a few signs by now Susan. Our early spring has decided to flee for a while and the wind and cold has taken over again. But it is a little early yet for us to have spring, so maybe I'll be waiting with you.
    Beautiful photos my dear!
    hugs...
